OVERVIEW BUBBLE ANALYSIS
Air or gas bubbles are an integral component of many processes especially in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. The size of bubbles, their rising velocity and bubble distribution are important parameters that influence the process and must be calculated and controlled. Bubble generation and size change within a process can be indications of impeller cavitations, gas flooding, pump deterioration or process plumbing leaks. The EnviroCam Model B and the entry level EnviroCam EL-B Model are designed for in-process (in situ) bubble analysis and foam detection. Both models utilize backlighting to view and analyze bubbles. Backlighting more clearly defines the bubble edge and produces sharper images with higher resolution. The EnviroCam B systems incorporate the latest technology to not only observe bubbles, but to measure and record bubble growth, bubble size, bubble configuration, and calculate bubble densities, flow paths and distribution. EnviroCam systems have proven useful in PAT (Process Analytical Technology) process analysis control, foam detection and anti foam methodology. All data is gathered on-line and insitu rather than off-line using samples. All data and characterization information obtained by the EnviroCam is stored and analyzed electronically and can be displayed in various graphic formats.
